                              Guest Photographs  &  Comments

Our guests come from the UK, but also from as far away as Iceland, America,  Canada, Australia and Romania. For many it was their first visit to this part of France; here are some photographs of activities they particularly enjoyed, plus some of their comments.

'The landscape between the village and the Pyrenees becomes increasingly mountainous and interesting; we climbed to Château de Montségur, a former Cathar Fortress perched atop a rock.'

'We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, you've got a beautiful place' :

Diana & Dan, Wales

'The gite is absolutely lovely and there was absolutely nothing more we could have wanted. ... we had a wonderful holiday.  All in all one of the best holidays we have ever had':

Jodie, Owen & Madeika, UK & Australia

'Simply Stunning': Rafal, London

'We had such a wonderful

time at Fontfroide Abbey'

"We had a marvellous stay in this charming three-storey townhouse in a tiny village. Diane could not have been more helpful or kind – she offered wonderful tips on what to enjoy in the local area. We'd love to go again, and highly recommend!" : Laura & Dan, UK

'The house is quite charming and also well appointed. It really was a pleasure to stay there, albeit just for a few days and we quickly started to call it "home"! The area is very attractive and although we couldn't expect much in the way of weather at this time of year, we had a thoroughly good time and would highly recommend the property; a stay here is a grand experience.' Sheila & Keith, UK

'We loved staying in a traditional village, not at all touristy, and the gite was as cute as a button. Our host, Diane, could not have been more helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed.. and more besides! Also offering lots of advice on where to visit both locally and further afield. We hope to be returning in the future and wouldn't hesitate in recommending the gite to anyone - can't fault it.'
Cheryl  & David, Wakefield.

'One of our favourite day trips was to the nearby town of Narbonne, where the canal winds through the town past the impressive Market hall which houses a fabulous produce market.'

'We went to lots of beaches, there are so many to chose from, Gruissan and Leucate Plage are just lovely but we ended up returning time and again to Narbonne Plage, it has everything you could want, plus the drive over La Clape is outstandingly beautiful.'

'We tasted some gorgeous local wines and had some wonderful meals, mostly leisurely lunches, they are such good value for money. Our favourite restaurant was Les Calicots in Fabrezan - marvellous.'

'We loved joining in the village festivities -  they always include music, good food and local wine and the atmosphere is amazing. We were made so welcome wherever we went and there was an impressive list of activities in all the tiny villages throughout the summer.'

'We visited wineries, medieval villages such as Lagrasse, Narbonne & Carcassonne & enjoyed every minute of our stay' :

Gudrun, Gummi & Tinna, Iceland

'I spent many a pleasant evening on the balcony with a glass of wine and a book enjoying the village comings & goings' : Fleur & James, India

'Exploring by car is a very good way to see the stunning views & historic sites' :

Kate & Elliot, Somerset

'I loved the vide greniers, I found some amazing bargains/treasures, also the Brocante shop in Thezan is very good.'
