The apartment is on the first floor of the house and, once you have climbed the ancient spiral  staircase, everything is on one level; the apartment has wi fi.

The spacious bedroom is elegantly and luxuriously furnished with antiques from the era the house was built. The double bed is  5ft 6ins wide and has an antique headboard and a ciel de lit, a bed sky, which was traditional in the 1880's. and which, together with the exposed beams,  gives the room a romantic ambiance. The bedspreads are from our collection of antique, hand crocheted bed covers.

The armoire and dressing table are also antique and traditional, as is the chaise longue. There is a sink on a marble topped washstand and beautiful paintings, including a miniature, and samplers on the walls. In keeping with our century, however, the room is air conditioned which is a real blessing in the summer months.

The lounge has a beautiful Juliet balcony, so you can sit, with the doors open, and watch village life go by. The room, as with the bedroom, is decorated and furnished to match the era the house was built. Part of one wall has the lovely Ferrals stonework exposed and the room has its original beams. With a huge, and comfortable, canopied settee, armchairs, and a traditional Landocienne bookcase full of novels and travel guides,  and even free Netflix, you can relax in comfort after a day at the beach, river or sightseeing.  Should you want to contact friends or work, the apartment has wi fi throughout.  The day bed is single bed size and linen is available for it, stored in the buffet in the same room.

From the Lounge you walk into the kitchen/dining room. The kitchen dining room has been renovated in keeping with the ambiance of the rest of the apartment, decorated with gorgeous antique cupboards, artifacts and linens it has a magical atmosphere.  The dresser is is filled with ancient kitchen memorabilia, including some from old vineyards, and the cupboards hold gorgeous crockery & glassware - all for your use - obtained from brocantes and antique shops.

The central light is an antique of the late 19th century, the height can be adjusted with the weight which is filled with sand, the marble work surfaces were taken from an old chateau, as was the curtain at the doorway to the lounge.  The traditional  and impressive Landocienne fireplace is decorated with an embroidered frieze, as are the shelves in one of the cupboards, this type of decoration was prevalent in this region.  There is a decorative charcoal burning wood stove in the fireplace, also from the correct era. Two of the cupboards are extremely old, you will see on one that it originally had holes for fingers rather than a handle, the other started life as a window in an ecclesiastical building, inside you can see a small window ledge.

Of course this large room, with seating for  up to eight at the dining room table, also has the necessary modern kitchen equipment.  The restored marble work surfaces and high quality kitchen equipment plus good quality cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery ensures that you can utilise and taste the wonderful local produce  and spend time relaxing and dining and enjoying all the Corbieres has to offer.

                                Shower Room

The shower room/toilet is located next to the bedroom. There is alway plenty of hot water and we supply towels, both for the shower and for your use at the beach and/or river. Should you require more towels, or wish us to take away used ones, just contact  us. The shower room is heated for the cooler months.
